At Hens Teeth Trading we place much value on handmade, one-off items. We really do love and value new and vintage made pottery pieces. Each piece describes something about its maker. We find interest in the offerings of different clay mediums and their textures and also the unexpectedness that comes from glaze recipes and the behaviour of the kiln and firing process of each potter.
This handsome heavy bowl or vase has been artfully thrown. It has a crisp symmetrical form that is contrasted by its organically applied glaze. Hard to see, but there is a textured band near the top of the bowl, that is more pronounced where the glaze is finer and is ever so subtle all round.
