It's really hard to capture the amazing surface of this very old salavaged treasure.
It was clear when we first met this beauty that it had firstly been made from salvaged parts. With crude construction, reminiscent of the methods of making functional items in the Australian depression era (although we cannot guarantee this originates from this time) and the odd leg construction, it was love at first sight for the Hens!
Unfortunately not all of her could be saved, and so, with thoughtful rebuilding, in the way she was originally made, replacement timbers were used to stand her back up. These timbers, recycled of course.
Along with the care taken to faithfully rebuild, much care has been taken to bring the timber surface back to life, with a conscious effort to NOT delete the years of charm.
Carrying a sizeable and very heavy timber and steel vice, that also hosts it's very own charm with metal details (chain and pin adjustment), this workbench deserves to be met in person in order to truly appreciate all of its details.
